We are beyond honored to share that Zola’s World, Inc. was awarded 🏆 1st Place Winner at the VCU Demo Day Pitch Competition hosted by the VCU da Vinci Center and Shift Retail Lab at VCU!
This moment represents so much more than a pitch competition win. It is validation that inclusive innovation matters. It is proof that storytelling, accessibility, technology, and representation deserve a seat at every table where the future is being built.
As a Deaf/Hard of Hearing-led company, we created Zola’s World to empower children with hearing loss through books, educational tools, and AI-driven inclusive solutions that help children feel seen, understood, and celebrated.
Winning this competition reinforces that the world is ready for solutions that bridge gaps in education, healthcare, communication, and emotional support for children and families navigating hearing differences.
This award also represents:
✨ Visibility for underrepresented founders
✨ Advocacy for Deaf and Hard of Hearing children
✨ The power of purpose-driven innovation
✨ The importance of inclusive storytelling in education and healthcare
We are deeply grateful to the incredible judges, mentors, organizers, supporters, and sponsors who believed in our vision. Special thanks to the VCU da Vinci Center, Shift Retail Lab, and everyone who made Demo Day such an inspiring experience.
To every person who has supported Zola’s World from the beginning—thank you for believing in a mission that is bigger than a brand. We are building a movement. 💜
This is only the beginning.
